Mechanical vs chemical filters

The mechanical and chemical filters are active components which differ by their method of action on UV rays.

The sunscreens which contain chemical filters in their composition (also known as non-mineral or traditional filters) have a function to absorb and disperse UVA and UVB rays. When used responsibly, the skin gets a bronze tan.

On the other hand, the products with mechanical filters (also known as mineral or physical filters), contain active components which are intended for dispersing and reflecting UVA and UVB rays. In this way, they prevent their absorption in the skin layers and do not promote tanning.

Both formulations, those with mechanical and chemical filters, guarantee a broad spectrum of protection from UVA and UVB rays, depending on the way you wish to enjoy the sun.
